Welcome to Chris Jolin's Treasure Hunt!

Hello! My name is Chris Jolin and I hail from the Kansas City, MO area. On this site you will find pics, descriptions and questions concerning my metal detecting finds. Also, you might find a story or two to enjoy.

Missouri and Kansas are rich in Civil War history, and inside this site you will see quite a few Civil War treasures pulled from our ground. One such property exists only by the thankfulness of the full belly of a Union Captain who disobeyed orders. This would be the Dehoney place in Raytown, Mo which is one of only 2 residences left standing by Ordinance 11 in the town of Raytown during the Civil War. (See Dehoney story)

I also dabble in small time gold prospecting. Make sure you take a look at my Prospecting link

So, now what?

You've successfully obtained permission to hunt that beautiful old property and recovered a group of iron relics that are rusted over, but still can't make out any detail. What next? Try electrolysis to remove the rust and restore that item back to its almost original state.

Yours truly in the ghost town of Cuervo, NM July 2007
